050122: Vanikapila 18.22

Aloha UFOhana,

I knew I was home from “A Sign” at the airport . . .

Looks vaguely familiar . . .

Then once aboard the Marin Shuttle Craft we set course for the Vendola System.

Helmsman, Warp 9, Make it so!

. . . in a matters of minutes we were in the middle of a Vanikapila Ceremony on a class M Planet – Kahua51 . . . where there were clones of the UFOhana back on Earth Prime . . .

. . . and then I woke up . . .

I want to start by saying Mahalo Nui Loa to all for such a warm homecoming. As I’ve said in the past, “It’s hard to leave home, but always good to come back home.”

So some of you who have visited Hawai’i may recall the size of the Cock-a-roaches there. For those of you who may not have the pleasure of seeing one in the “flesh”, this should give you an idea . . .

Ok, maybe not that big, but close.

I found a really cool music store in a shopping center near our Pearl City home called Kalena. They had a really good collection of Ukuleles at very reasonable prices, along with cool 88 Key Portable Folding Pianos, Cahons, Lap Steels and more. I’m told that their Ukuleles are built to spec abroad and finished on O’ahu by the owner. They mentioned that any orders over $100 ship free too!

Here’s a sampling of their wares and business card:

Of course we can’t forget our favorite Marine . . .

Below, images from Madison’s Facebook. Look’s like she’s have a great time in training and getting pretty buff. Way to go Madison!

  • Paintball Battalion
  • Check out those guns! Oo-rah!

For those of you interested in Linguistics . . .

From Pidgin to Da Max (full title: Peppo’s Pidgin to Da Max) by Douglas Simonson, Pat Sasaki, and Ken Sakata

I often wondered if there were any others beside my brother and I, in our family, that was interested in music . . .

This is my Niece’s (Chrissy) son, A.J. age 6, performing his recital of “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka at his teacher’s studio.

Yet another young, upcoming, musical talent . . .

And finally, below is the link this Saturday’s Vanikapila Stream.

Again, if you’ll be joining us IRL (In Real Life), you’ll need to be fully Vax and boosted. Wearing masks is highly recommended, but optional and as always, text me at 415-300-7804 if you’ll be attending IRL.

gently we drift out,
bodies withering through time,
free at last to soar.

Hauoli la Mei (Happy May Day),

Can you see me?
