062722: No Vanikapila this week. . . again. . .

BOT:

Aloha UFOhana,

Sorry Vanikapila ‘Ohana, but we’ll be Kanikapila-ing at the Marin County Fair this week, with “Marin County”! Ok, well at least with anyone else from Marin that bring their Ukulele to the Fair. As I mentioned before, the Marin County Fair Organizers are actually encouraging fair goers to bring their Ukes this year. So be sure to spread the word with your Friends and ‘Ohana . . . this could be the beginning of something big . . .

Because of the heat (hopefully no one will faint this year) and need for Hula dancers to move on and off the stage safely I’ve limited the Stage to just the 40 UFOhana Pilots who RSVP’d. If you did not RSVP for this year’s event, you are welcome to participate from the audience. We could definitely use some plants/experienced players out there encouraging the audience.

For those of you not receiving our weekly blog-letter and wondering how it works. It’s quite simple, just log into this blog via your favorite browser and look for the “Subscribe to Blog Via Email” field on the right side of the blog. See image below, you may have to scroll up and down to find it.

Btw, if you had Subscribed Earlier, but later canceled your subscription, you will need to re-subscribe.

The process is automated, and I am not allowed to intervene other than canceling a subscription, this is to prevent me from SPAMing.

Vanikapila 23.22 . . .

We had a great turn out this past Saturday’s Vani/Kanikapila. Great weather, Hulas (even a special one from Amy), and even a little Martian dust devil to re-arrange the umbrellas. Fortunately no one was injured and in true UFOhana spirit we Kanikapila’d On!

Mahalo to all that attended, braved the dust storm, and shared their aloha. Mahalo to Nohea for providing the Birthday Chocolate Mousse/Cheese/yummy thingy Cake.

County Fair Update:

It’s getting close folks . . .

The tickets and Song Book for the July 2nd event are now available for pickup at Vendola Café for all those that have RSVP’d for the event. Please call Nohea (Linda) at 415-572-1175 to schedule a pickup time.

If you haven’t RSVP’d, you’re welcome to attend but you’ll need to purchase your own ticket and because of limited space on the stage you’ll need to participate from the audience.

I explained the concept of a “Kanikapila” to the County Cultural Center folks. As a result, they are encouraging attendees to bring their own Ukuleles, if they wish, so they can participate in our Kanikapila. Is that cool or what? Of course, we will be providing song books for the audience.

Stay tuned for more details.

Ok, that all I have for now.

Mahalo, again, for all your well wishes and healing words through my difficult time.

UkEkU
