BOT:

Aloha All,

We’re gathering at the Sonoma Valley Woman’s Club this Saturday, 2pm -4pm, for our 1st IRL (In Real Life) Kanikapila in 2+ years! They’re located at 574 1st St E, Sonoma, CA 95476. Hula Mai will be joining us and providing refreshments and snacks for a fee. Mahalo Nui to Dorothy and the Sonoma Valley Wahine for the invite!

Napa Porchfest . . .

Some of you may recall that I announced our invitation to perform at the Napa Porchfest on July 31st.

For those of you interested, here’s a link to to the 2022 Porchfest T-Shirts. Pre-order now to save a few $$$. They charge $8 for shipping or if you’re interested, and can place your order within the coming week, Carolyn has volunteered to do ONE pickup run for the ‘Ohana. Email me your T-Shirt order receipts. I will gather them up and forward them to Carolyn. So get your order in ASAP or pay the $8 in shipping. Mahalo Carolyn!

Vanikapila 23.22 . . .

We had a great turn out this past Saturday’s Vani/Kanikapila. Great weather, Hulas (even a special one from Amy), and even a little Martian dust devil to re-arrange the umbrellas. Fortunately no one was injured and in true UFOhana spirit we Kanikapila’d On!

Mahalo to all that attended, braved the dust storm, and shared their aloha. Mahalo to Nohea for providing the Birthday Chocolate Mousse/Cheese/yummy thingy Cake.

County Fair Update:

It’s getting close folks . . .

The tickets and Song Book for the July 2nd event are now available for pickup at Vendola Café for all those that have RSVP’d for the event. Please call Nohea (Linda) at 415-572-1175 to schedule a pickup time.

If you haven’t RSVP’d, you’re welcome to attend but you’ll need to purchase your own ticket and because of limited space on the stage you’ll need to participate from the audience.

I explained the concept of a “Kanikapila” to the County Cultural Center folks. As a result, they are encouraging attendees to bring their own Ukuleles, if they wish, so they can participate in our Kanikapila. Is that cool or what? Of course, we will be providing song books for the audience.

Stay tuned for more details.

Ok, that all I have for now.

Mahalo, again, for all your well wishes and healing words through my difficult time.

Alooooha UFOhana,

Hope you’ve all been enjoying the respite from the hot weather. Though it was pretty warm this week, we did have some really “hot” ukulele events this past week.

Starting with a great outdoor Welcoming dinner for the Elks visiting AVP after which we kanikapila’d the night away. Mahalo nui loa to the Elks for including the UFOhana.

Then Saturday, was Ken’s Concert and Kanikapila at Hale Pendry. What a fantastic event that was. Click below to view the photos and videos from last Saturday. Mahalo nui loa to Carolyn and Ken for putting on such a great event and to all that helped and participated. Please feel free to upload your photos to either of the albums. I’m sure your ‘Ohana would be glad you shared.

So this Saturday we’re back to our regular programming . . .

Click above to join in virtually.

If you’ll be joining us IRL (In Real Life), you’ll need to be fully Vax and boosted. Wearing masks is highly recommended and as always, text me at 415-300-7804 if you’ll be attending IRL.

Remember to text Nohea at 415-572-1175 for song requests if you cannot get through the Live Stream chat.

And a big Congratulations to Marty Albion for being named Marin’s Bike Champion of the Year! Click here to view the Marin IJ article (subscription required).
