Aloha UFOhana,

Hauʻoli Lā Ukulele Lahui (Happy National Ukulele Day)!

Yes, there is such a thing, which started on February 2, 2011. Not sure how these “Holidays” are proclaimed, but I’m glad they’re out there.

Of course we all knew about the bonding and happiness that this little instrument can bring into one’s life and ‘Ohana. Like Jake Shimabukuro said, ” You can help but smile when you hold one in your hand.”

You can check out some of that happiness by clicking in the image below.

Speaking of happiness. You may have heard me whining about my backyard shed(s) project for my son. Thanks to Ralph, my son, Lucas and a ton of sweat equity we finished the project last night at 6pm.

Interesting fact from Ralph:

So each paver weighs 15.2 lbs times 140 pavers = 2128 lbs and if we handle them three times, that is around 6384 lbs over two days or maybe 3192 lbs per day . My forearms now look like Popeye’s!

Images from that project below.

Finally, I want to share this with those of you that wish to express their Civil Disobedience against the current regime. Click the image below for details.

Uke-Ku

and slowly we drift,
an uncertain horizon,
dark waters ahead.

Aloha a hui hou,

Don’t read the paper Mom . . . it’ll just upset you . . .

  1. Very impressive foundation and shed building work. I bet you were sore and happy at the same time. Congratulations.

    1. Mahalo and yes, sore and happy. Nothing like having ‘Ohana (Ralph and my son) on a project.
