100725 Sad News . . .

Aloha UFOhana,

It’s with a heavy heart that I report that one of our newest and sweetest members our UFOhana, Jolyn O’hare, suddenly passed away yesterday.

Jolyn @ Saturday’s Vanikapila.

The details are not clear but here’s what we got from Sandy when we reached out to him . . .

Thanks Del and Linda…I almost called you but didn’t want to wake you up if you were sleeping… It was quite a shock, Morgan (Sandy’s Daughter) called me about 2pm crying and I had no idea how or what happened and still don’t! Jolyn never had mentioned any kind of physical problems ever since we had been together!

Anyway thanks! We are going to have a celebration of life for her and I’d like for us to play some music to send her our UFO love…I’ll be in touch…Sandy

We’re all in still in shock of her sudden passing.

Just this past Saturday, we were just complimenting her on her first ever hula performance. She had such a happy and gentle way about her and was always so grateful to be part of our ‘Ohana . . .

Please send your healing Mana and Aloha to Jolyn’s family and to Sandy. Keep them in your prayers as we all try to make sense of this sudden loss.

as quick as lightning,
a brightly glowing spirit,
vanishes from life.

Me ke aloha pumehana to Sandy and O’hare ‘Ohana,

Del and Linda

  1. Such a shock to hear of Jolyn. Very sad news… sending love to surround her now, to Sandy and to her family.

    1. I am so sad. My heart hurts for all of the UFO O’Hana . Jolyn and I met in Sandy’s class when I had just picked up playing the Ukulele. Through the couple of years of knowing her we became friends. She always helped me with my internet struggles. We shared stories of her cat and my dog Carley. So sweet and gentle , witnessing her hula dance last Saturday was so awesome. My condolences to Sandy. She will always hold a special place in my heart .

  5. Oh no, Jolyn has been so much help to me in Sandy’s Class. I probably drove her crazy with my constant questions and it was so nice to see her first hula last week. This is very sad I know she was enjoying her baritone. She will be missed.
