| Hello Everyone, This Saturday afternoon from 12:30 til 2:30 the Jai Josefs Quartet will be bringing our unique blend of Jazzy Rock and Rockin’ Jazz to Hop Monk in Sonoma at 691 Broadway. We’ll be playing original arrangements of a delicious blend of the music of Sting, Santana, Steely Dan, the Crusaders, etc. plus originals. And they’ll be serving a delicious blend of food (salads, burgers, sandwiches, etc) plus beers from around the world. What a great way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon! Please join us….James |

Greetings fellow rhythmists,
This occasional update is to remind everyone that the Community Drum Circle offered through Sausalito Parks and Recreation continues weekly, every Tuesday.
Our Summer hours are 5:30pm til dusk at the Dunphy Park gazebo, by the bocce courts on Bridgeway, weather permitting.
Winter hours (after daylight time ends, or on cold wet weather days) we will meet from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the Edgewater Room, downstairs from the library at 420 Litho Street.
Note the room change. The city council changed its meeting time, so we will focus on acoustic interior space rhythming in our ongoing drum jams for personal and community health, wellness, and recreation. Fun and friendly, all levels welcome.
Remember, Sausalito Community Drum Circle is open to everyone, weekly. Pay what you will, no one turned away.

Everyone welcome, all ages and skill levels, for a fun and friendly hands-on activity. Always fresh!
Bring your own hand drum, or other percussion-friendly instrument, or borrow from a small assortment provided.
Twenty minute sessions emphasize shared beats for health, wellness, and recreation. Rhythmic workouts allow for self- expression, acoustic listening, synchronized movement, and deep relaxation. Drop in, tune out, reconnect.
Fees: None. $20 tips suggested, no one turned away.

Also: For those interested in formal drum instruction, Mark Bell, a world class Middle Eastern percussionist, is offering classes through College of Marin Continuing Education again this fall. Registration is now open. Highly recommended.

BEGINNERS
An introductory course in techniques and rhythms primarily for Middle Eastern music with plenty of applicable crossover into other musical forms. Bring your darbuka, smallish djembe or frame drum. We’ll touch on general music concepts and specifically how to fit in with a group.
