Aloha kakahiaka UFOhana,

Hauʻoli lā makua kāne (Happy Father’s Day) to all our UFOhana Faddas out there. Hope you all have a fun and happy day with your loved ones.

I’m glad to hear that those of you that joined the “Resistance” today had a peaceful one. Also glad to hear that no one was injured or arrested. Maika’i (well done)!

We had a small gathering at Vendola Cafe, but we did our share of protest songs. Images from today’s event below (click to view online album).

Friday we were at the Elks enjoying Joe’s Onolicious (Hawaiian pidgin for Yummy) Dinner and Kanikapila. Images from that event below. Not bad for a Friday the 13th night.

Mahalo to Joe Tato and his Kitchen Menehunes for a wonderful night and for inviting us to the Elks once again.

Below the link to this coming Saturday’s Vanikapila. Click here if you’ll be joining us he alo ā he alo (face to face).

Lastly, it’s time to register for the 2025 Marin County Fair.

As it was last year, there’s limited number of tickets for the event so do register ASAP if you want a free entry ticket. Otherwise, you’re welcome to attend, but you’ll need to purchase your own ticket.

Click here for Details and to Register.

Aloha UFOhana,

Hope this finds you all well on this hump day. We’re sliding down the backside of the week into an Elks Local Kine Kaukau (Hawaiian Style Dinner). Mahalo to Brudda Joe Tato for inviting once again to the Elks Lodge.

Click here for details on the event and to RSVP a Dinner.

So last week I spoke about the PBS special on YouTube regarding Hawaii’s Influence on Modern Music. Very interesting and mind blowing.

Pay special attention to the person who “saved” the Royal Hawaiian Band after Hawai’i was annexed. I think we may be related . . . . at least in another time line / parallel universe?

In fact, the description of annexation is scarily similar to what’s happening in California today.

Click below to view that documentary.

Here’s one for you “Just one more is Enough” Ukulele Collectors out there.

It’s a vintage Royal Hawaiian currently on consignment at Magic Flute. Just show them these photos if you’re interested, or ask for Mike Creamer. It still plays very well and despite it’s flaws, it has been well loved.

It’s a more deluxe model than the one I have hanging in Vendola Cafe.
