Aloha Ka Kou!

The Campbell Hall is still booked this week so we’re convening at the UFOHQ this Friday. Run time from 7:30 till whenever. BYPotLuck, some Healthy (but not too healthy) Main Dish/Salad/Dessert, BYOGear (a music stand and maybe a folding chair) and of course some Aloha to pass onto others.

It was another very busy weekend and we have the pictures . . . starting with the Elks Fancy Port-a-gee Dinner Night (click the collages to access the albums):

Mahalo to the Elks for a great dinner and for being such gracious hosts month after month. Then it was onward to Sonoma for a special kanikapila at the Sonoma Valley Woman’s Club. A beautiful redwood structure built in 1916 and made available to us by the wonderful women of the SVWC. Mahalo to Dorothy Lund for all your help with setup and for opening up this beautiful club house to the UFOhana and Hula Mai. Mahalo to Betty Ann Bruno and Hula Mai for sharing their fabulous Hula and special brand of Aloha with us. Mahalo to Ted, Joe and Kimo for keeping the strumming alive at the Sleeping Lady. Hope you folks had a great time there.

Then it was back to school on Sunday, Contra Costa Culinary College that is, where our own Jon and Marvin (from Hilltop Ukulele Lovers Academy) are Alumi. Mahalo Nui Loa to Jon and Debbie for inviting us out to this Ono-licious event!

Elk Fancy Dinner presents: Portuguese Night Friday, April 24th Bar Opens at 5pm Dinner at 7pm and the Ukuleles will play after dinner 

$30 per person (includes 1 glass of Portuguese wine)
Caldo Verde (kale & linguica sausage soup)
Bacalhau Bras (salted cod with potatoes)
Cozido Portuguesa (stew)
Rroz de Pato (rice flavored with duck)
Arrozo Doce (rice pudding)
$10 kid meal – burger & fries

All and all a pretty ‘Standard’ weekend 7 hours of Ukulele, Mele and Hula  for the UFOhana . . . . are we getting too old yet?

As a reminder some of us will  be at the Sonoma Valley Woman’s Club this Saturday 2-4pm.  There will be a group at Sleeping Lady as well. For those of you attending the Sonoma Valley Kanikapila please consider feeding the donation jar as a Mahalo for opening their doors to us.  Mahalo to Betty Ann for her all her effort(s)  in bringing Kanikapila to Sonoma. STRUM ON!

Once again, Mahalo Nui Loa for all that you do for Nohea and myself. Thanks to your generous donations we were able to purchase more chairs, paper and toner for our copier, plates, dinner ware . . . and keep the HQ open for our UFO Pilots.
