092415: Kanikapila at UFO HQ this Friday!

BOT:

Aloha All,

Sorry for the late notice (it’s been one of those months . . . again).

I just found out that a private party has been booked at the Elks this Friday. So we’ll be at UFO HQ instead (aka 1585 Vendola Drive, San Rafael). Run Time 7PM to 10-ish. BYPotluck, BYOGear, BYAloha!

I want to say on behalf of Linda and PIKO, Mahalo Nui Loa to all of you that participated and assisted with the PIKO Fundraiser: HELE ON UKULELE 2015. We raised almost $2000 this year in donations and entry fees.We could not have done it without the help of the Best UFOhana in (and out of) this world! Also, our eternal gratitude goes out to the best Elks Lodge (#1108) in Marin for providing such a beautiful venue and delicious lunch! If you haven’t already please consider helping out the Elks by joining the lodge. They have been so gracious, kind and generous to the UFOhana in providing us a venue for our music. Be sure to express your Mahalos to the Elk-ders when you see them . . .*****NEWS FLASH***** I just got word tonight, from Joe Tato, that PIKO was awarded a significant grant from the Elks! Mahalo Nui Loa e Me Ke Aloha Pumehana Elks!

And speaking of grants and donations, some of you who were at Hele On Ukulele witnessed our latest donation to the Lynwood Elementary School, in the form of a Bass Guitar and Amp system, pictured above, Ms. Boosey and Amy (just barely taller than the Bass) next to the system purchased from Magic Flute.  It’s ‘Ohana like you that help make awards like these possible, helping PIKO propagate music, with instructors like Lynnette, via the Ukulele, to our youths in Marin and beyond. I have to say the Keiki Entries are getting better and better every year! Soon they’ll be competing in the Adults division, watch out!

This Saturday we’ll Kanikapila at the Sonoma Valley Woman’s Club. 2p-4p, donations of $5 are requested at the door to help with operating costs.
We’ve also been invited to a couple cool events in October, Red Oak Victory Ship and the Sharktober Fest and on Oct 23rd, Friday, we’ve been invited to Kanikapila at the Petaluma Elks! But I’m too tired to get into it right now, so please keep checking back here for details.
