BOT:

Aloha UFOhana,

Well it’s June, and still no rain in sight. Hope you’ve all been keeping well out there and continuing to conserve our precious water.

Big mahalo to the intrepid intrepid individuals that made the O.K. (Outdoor Kanikapila) last week and to our Cyber ‘Ohana out in Vanikapila land. Always a pleasure sharing our Aloha IRL and Virtually. That’s the wonderful thing about music, if you can hear it you’re physically experiencing it. Next best thing to being there!

Speaking of Vanikapila, remember that this week we’ll be holding Vanikapila on Saturday from 4pm.-6pm. This is just for June 5, we will return to our regular time of 11am-1pm on June 12.

Following the Vanikapila, we will be holding our (PIKOhana) BBQ, from 6p-whenever. Only for those who have RSVP’d last week. However, if you wish, you are welcome to join us, but you will need to provide your own dinner. Mike says that they will be serving us. We will be providing plates and utensils, tables and chairs. But remember, it’s BYOBeverage.

On the menu: Ribs, Chicken, Bean and Potato Salads. I understand that there maybe desserts and other fixins coming in for a landing by our ‘Ohana members.

Below the link for this week’s Vanikapila.

Mahalo Nui Loa to Mike for sponsoring the BBQ event.

I forgot to mention, though dinner is free, you are more than welcome to drop a donation in the Red PIKOhana Buckets that a will be available at the BBQ.

Yes, that is really Miki Maui up there!

Mahalo Nui to Marty and Don for Pauline’s beautiful and delicious Birthday Cake!

A couple of interesting articles passed onto me from our friend, Ken Mercer from Gnoss Field (who we played for at their Christmas Party), about abandoned airports in San Rafael.

One them seems to be right where Vendola Cafe is sitting! I knew I called us Ukulele ‘Pilots’ for a reason!

This article was in the IJ this morning:

And this one is on a website that collects information on abandoned airports:

Meanwhile, below, getting the runway ready for June 5 UFOhana Pilots . . .

  • Wish I had one of these when I was “planting rice back in the Philippines”.
  • The after math, looks almost like concrete and almost as hard. A lot more level but still work to be done.

  1. Speaking of space, be alert for those space lasers which, according to those of lesser capacity, have caused the California wildfires!!
