120319: A Break in the Rain

BOT:

Aloha Ahi Ahi UFOhana,

Seems we’ve been given a short break from the storm. Hope you’re all doing well out there. We’re still above water at the UFOHQ thankfully. Though it has delayed setup of our exterior Christmas decorations. Luckily, Nohea is little bit ahead of schedule on the interior.

Congratulations to Cindy for finding the Christmas Pickle and winning an Ukulele at last Friday’s Kanikapila. More prizes coming to a Kanikapila near you so stay tuned!

I’ve posted the events for this weekend. Another busy (and fun) one, check it out at https://UFOhana.org/events . Saturday has two events, you’ll need to click ” View All 2 Events » ” to view them, be sure to register if you will be joining in on the Holiday Merriment / Madness / Mele. Can you believe it’s December?

Click below to view our last Friday kanikapila of November.

Below our last Saturday kanikapila of November . . . they just seem to come and go don’t they? Especially considering that November was a long month. Good seeing Gabe again. Amazing to think he was just a teenager a while ago, hanging with us back in the Sleeping Lady Days. Thanks Cindy for bringing your son by!

UkekU

a swirling blackness,
heaven’s tears falls to ʻĀina,
parched earth rejoices.

This is the way . . . I have spoken.

Aloha a hui hou,

-=SqL+Nohea+Jake=-

oooooooh pretty Christmas Ball . . . .

  1. Love getting your newsletter even though we are on the Big Island now until April. Wonder if you know of anyone teaching ukulele in San Francisco?
Our granddaughter who is 13 would like to take some lessons….Remember, you so kindly gave us the cute blue ukulele for her, and she has “graduated” to a bigger one…and loves playing! I too, have just purchased one for myself here in Kamuela and will take some lessons….Maybe then we can fully participate in your wonderful Kanekapilas! Thank you for all you do to keep our wonderful Hawaiian music alive! Aloha, Merry an John Barton
