032018: UFOHQ this Friday and Sonoma Saturday . . .

BOT:

Aloha All,

Sorry for the short email last week. I was very busy with Computer Repairs and “other stuff”. I got everything up and running so we’re good to go for this week.

We’ll be at UFOHQ this Friday, 7pm -10pm, BYPotLuck, BYOMusic Stands, and of course BYAloha. Last week Friday was our 18th Year of Friday Night Kanikapilas, which I forgot to mention because I was so distracted, so I’m thinking we’ll celebrate our 18th Anniversary this Friday (Hana Hou)! Text me at 4153007804 to RSVP a seat, be sure to identify yourself in the text. Doors open at 6:45pm.

I did some calculations adding up the Friday (52×18) and Saturday (52×5) years of Kanikapila we’ve jammed roughly 1,196 times and that’s not including “Special Events” like the County Fair, Maritime Day, Shark-tober-fest, etc.  I can’t even begin to calculate the number of strums we all must have put on our Ukulele! Is there an Epidemiologist in the house?

Here are some images from last week Friday . . .

I had mentioned being distracted by “other stuff” last week, check this out. A group of us Kanikapila’d with Ms. Bosey’s 4th and 5th graders. 123+ Ukulele players, there’s even a video of them singing Koke’e . . .

I think Uncle Dennis would have been proud. Mahalo Nui Loa to Lynnette for making all this possible and creating such a nurturing environment for these wonderful Keiki! Maika’i! You make it all so worthwhile and what a way to strum in our 18th year of Kanikapila.

Since we’re on the subject of support Ukulele in our Schools, don’t forget about this . . .

Remember that there will be a Kanikapila with Faith Ako at the end, plus she’s bringing some of her CDs to sell. So bring your Ukes and Flight Gear with you.

Saturday we’ll be at the Sonoma Valley Woman’s Club , at our usual time of 2p – 4p. Please consider bringing friends and giving a little donation at the door to the SVWC for hosting us. Mahalo.

Here are the Saturday photos, we actually had a hula from Cindy RosVis. Doing her timeless Can’t Help Falling in Love . . . check below you’ll understand . . . Mahalo, mahalo very muuuch . . .
