083117: Kanikapila at UFOHQ this Friday & Saturday . . .

Aloha all,

Yes it is the 1st Friday, and we’re usually at the Campbell Hall, but there’s street construction going on out there so we’re at the UFOHQ this Friday, 7-10pm. BYHealthy Potluck (if can), BYOMusic Stands and always, BYAloha. Mahalo to Reverend Chip for the heads up about the construction and we’ll see you next month.

Saturday, also at the UFOHQ will be held at its usual time of 2p-4p. BYOB&Snacks if you want . ..

I understand we’ll be celebrating our Virgo’s BDays this month at this Friday Kanikapila. Charlotte and I will be sharing ours on the same day with other notables such as . . .

Queen Liliuokalani
Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves
Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek

and oh, this guy . . .

Mark Harmon
Mark Harmon

. . . to name a few. I’m sure we have more Leos in ‘Ohana than just us?

Click the following links for last week’s photo albums: Friday Kani and Saturday Kani . Btw, congratulations to Cindy for winning a new Ukulele at the Saturday Kanikapila raffle. She appears with her proud new YELLOW in the Saturday Kani album.

September will be a busy month for us. Here are the upcoming events:

September 16th:
Kanikapila at the Napa Aloha Festival
2p – 4p

There are no details yet on their site but you can click below for information . ..

Btw, MHCF will be taking canned food donations at the event. So come on, give up that extra can of SPAM for a good cause!

September 23rd:
Napa Elks Lodge 4p-8p

September 30th:
It’s Kanikapila at the Sharktoberfest!
11am – 4p.

Yes, we’ve been invited to play there once again. Hope some of you can help out with this worthy cause. Click image below for details . . .

And finally,  our much awaited UFOhana Gig Book Volume 1  is now available. The UFOGBV1 is a distillation of favorites songs from our three UFOhana Flight Manuals. All combined into one easy to carry volume, with the purpose of being used at our various special events. It has about 270 songs, of which 57 or so, are Hulas! I can provide a Table of Contents, that cross reference the songs to their various UFOFM volumes for those that don’t mind carrying the two books. There are about 5 new songs not in the current 3 UFOFM Volumes, I believe all are Hulas. If you’re interested in a copy, check with Nohea (aka Linda) at our next Kanikapila. Btw, our current 3 volumes will continue to be available and used at our regular Kanikapilas.

Ok, time to post this to the blog. Hope to see you folks this Friday and / or Saturday.

a ghostly shadow,
a moon drifts into orbit,
Heavenly Hula.
