As many of you already know, Nohea (Linda) and I are heading to O’ahu to lay my Mother to rest next to my Father, who passed almost 2 years ago.
They would have celebrated their 74th Anniversary this past January 12th.
After having started life as rice farmers in the Philippines, Dad decided a better life was to had by joining the US Navy, they emigrated the United States, eventually landing in Hawai’i and began raising their 6 children. It was difficult and challenging times but they persevered and some how made sure that we all had opportunities in life that they didn’t have back in the Philippines.
I thank God that they can now spend an eternity of peace and love together.
This past Saturday’s Vanikapila was a packed house. Mahalo to all that attended and warmed up the cold Lanai with your Aloha. It sure made for a warm and joyful send off for our trip to the Medina Cafe (aka Vendola Cafe Prime). Mahalo to Lynnette for bringing her Keiki from school and E Komo Mai (Welcome) to Brian Lin and his family.
A sincere Mahalo Nui Loa to all of you for your generous support and healing mana during this difficult time.
We’ll keep you posted as things evolve on our trip.
