021517: Staying Close to Home . . .

BOT:

Aloha All,

Hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day.

Well I decided to give my sciatica a break and not haul any music gear all over town. I think digging a 50′ trench, repairing fences, hauling sand bags and cleaning the living room and bedroom carpet has finally taken it’s toll on my back. So we’ll be gathering at UFO HQ this Friday, 7p-10p, BYPotLuck (a main dish or Salad), BYOGear (music stands, etc.) and Aloha of course. Saturday will be at the HQ as well 2p-4p, BYOBS (Beverage and Snacks).

Speaking of snacks or finger foods, I’d like to share the following from Brudda Wally (and Craig Scheiner) . . .

What Del’s really thinking of when people ask . . .

Mahalo Wally! Btw, how did you know??????

Click the two Cuties below for Saturday Kanikapila Images . . .

Click the I’na Kano’e  Dancers below for the Friday Kanikapila . . .

Btw, Mahalo to the UFOhana for helping the Elks raise $1200 that night for the Veterans Support Groups. Mahalo to the Elk-ders for hosting us and allowing us to participate in this important event.

And for those of  you that can’t get enough of “it” here’s a Kani that’s hosted by Kathy Quain at Bananas At Large on 4th Street . . .

Kathy also has other music events and teaches Ukulele as well. She can be reached at:

And finally, check out this vintage Comic Cover with Pat Boone playing an ‘Ukulele! Judging from the design, it looks almost like a Kala Tenor Travel Uke?

Alright, time to get ready for the next storm. Stay dry and be well everyone. Let’s pray for the folks out at Oroville, keep that damn dam in one piece!

  1. Would you add me to your email list for uke events? Thanks. That vintage cover should be worth millions, or may hundreds
    !!

  2. Hi Del,
Just watched Gilles playing CestCBon (Petalukes) on your youtube channel. A great tribute to our dear departed friend. Thanks for sharing that moment for us all to view with a memory of happiness in a sad time.
