030216: Saturday Canoe Blessing Canceled . . .

BOT:

Aloha All,

The Canoe Blessing for Lokahi has been canceled due to strong possibility of rain. But, if you’re not busy that evening about about joining us at the following?

Willie K

This is the event where Lynnette’s Lynwood Elementary Ukulele Academy will be opening and playing with Willie K! I believe she’ll have a big group there and our own little Mark, will be playing bass. Willie K is perhaps Hawaii’s most versatile performer. It’s going to a fabulous concert so why not come down and show our Keiki and the Marin Center support for putting on these kind of ‘Community Oriented’ events. Mahalo to Marion Boyd for arranging this, another first for Marin County and Hawaiian Performing Artists.

Btw, we’ve been ask to participate in He’e Nalu’s Canoe Blessing Sunday March 13th. I believe they’ll be starting around 9:30-10am at 101 Sports in San Rafael, just across from San Rafael High, so come on down. Bring a little Kau Kau to share and some Aloha to wish He’e Nalu (of which Brudda Napli Bob is a member) a great season. Kumu Lynn Roth will be performing the Blessing and Betty Ann Bruno and members of her Halau will be celebrating right along with us.

Mahalo Nui Loa to all of you that have support these and other Local “Hawaiian ‘Kine” events in our community. Btw, did I mention that we will be Celebrating the UFOhana’s 16th year Anniversary next week Friday, the 11th? We’ll be at the Elks that day, please do come by and sing a mele with us, help us celebrate 16 years of Kanikapila Marin County UFOhana Style!

Stay Dry and Safe,
