Sorry for the late posting, been another one of those weeks and a couple more just like it coming up. TGFK! Thank God For Kanikapila! Which we’re holding at UFOHQ this Friday. A usual run time from 7:30 till whenever, or until the last Ukulele Player drops. BYPotLuck, some Healthy (but not too healthy) Main Dish/Salad/(but please, for our diabetics sake, go easy on the) Dessert, BYOGear (a music stand and maybe a folding chair) and of course some Aloha to pass onto others.
Many of you may already be aware of Sleeping Lady closing down. Which marks this Saturday as our last Kanikapila at the Sleeping Lady Café (aka Wahine Moe Moe). Please express your Mahalos and good will to the crew, Bethany, Christine, Alama, Rose, Jack, Isult and many others that made us feel so welcome at Wahine Moe Moe. Please do wish them luck in their future endeavors. Mahalo Nui Loa to Claudia Vasquez for introducing us to the Sleeping Lady ‘Ohana and for all her support in other UFOhana endeavors.
It’s been a fun, great 3 years at the Lady and we hoping that we may be able to find a new home nearby at (again with Claudia’s help) the Barefoot Café. We’re hoping to schedule a Test Flight at the Barefoot on the 30th. We had originally scheduled it for the 23rd but Linda reminded me that we’re scheduled to be at the Sonoma Valley Woman’s Club instead. So come and jam with us at the SVWC on the 23rd instead. A heads up for another Test Flight, our good friend (What Page?) Paul, has arranged a Kanikapila at the San Rafael Joe’s on 4th street, June 2nd, 6:30p – 9:00p. Keep the date open and stay tuned for more details.

So last week we were at the Elks, a little different this time as we had our 1st Pot Luck there. Even got to celebrate Ellie’s Birthday and got to see Aunty Ku’uipo Hula again before she left for the Marshall Islands. A Jet Setter and a Hula Dancers, not bad for some one 96 years young! Thank you for a wonderful time at the Elks, so glad to have shared Ellie’s birthday celebration. 🙂 And I’m sorry we missed you all on Saturday — Auntie found herself a little tired after dancing Friday (go figure). As it happens, the farthest she has jetted this week is to San Rafael, so we will hope to see you again this weekend. So sorry to lose the Sleeping Lady, what a magical run it has been.
