Btw, unless things change, we’ll probably be at Campbell Hall next week. We’re usually there the 1st Friday of the Month, we’ll need a bass player for that night. Anybody out there available?

Also, I’ll be conducting a Kanikapila in Sonoma this Saturday, 2p -4p, at the Plaza Bistro.  Here’s a link to their website for directions and such:   http://theplazabistro.com/

However, there will be a UFOhana Flight Crew at the Sleeping Lady running the Kanikapila for that day. Mahalo Lynette, Ted, Elaine, Mike, Kimo  and to all of you for keeping the strumming going at The Lady!

Oh, if you’ll be joining us in Sonoma, we ask that you dress in Hawaiian Attire. Just to set the mood and to provide good Photo Ops for the Sonoma papers / news groups.

Btw, while having breakfast this past Sunday we spotted this (huge) beautiful bird, sitting atop an old juniper tree, from our kitchen window.  Anybody know what kind it is? Seems like it’s having ‘breakfast’ too…

This Sunday is He’e Nalu’s Canoe Blessing and membership drive. I know a few of you have paddled ‘In A Canoe’ a few times. Here’s your chance to see a whole flotilla up close and personal, maybe even take a ride in one. Plus if you haven’t had enough Uke-ing this past weekend, a small flight crew of the UFOhana will be there as well, so come an join in for the Kanikapila . . . Mahalo Nui to Napili Bob for the invite.

  1. Aloha Friends.
For anyone who is joining us on Saturday night (Feb. 28) for the talk by Fr. Bill Miller from Lihue, Kaua’i, just a reminder that the fun starts at 7:00 pm at 70 Santa Rosa Ave. in Sausalito (Campbell Hall). If enough people come and bring their ukuleles, we’ll offer to serenade Fr. Bill by playing Hanalei Moon. We’ll have light finger food and beer to celebrate Fr. Bill’s book, “The Beer Drinker’s Guide to God.” Hope you can join us.

    1. Mahalo for the Update Chip! Hoping for a good turn out at your event. Sorry I couldn’t be there.
      Aloha,
      Del

  2. Hello, still feeling bad about missing Ohana last week — but it looks like we will have Auntie Kuuipo this weekend, possibly Friday, but it may be later in the evening.
So another question from the newbie — Can anyone join you at the Elks after dinner (Auntie may be a member, I’m not sure), or is the Kanikapila open only to dinner guests?
Otherwise we will plan on joining the Flight Crew at Sleeping Lady on Saturday.
    Mahalo, Dena

    1. Aloha Dena,

The event is open to the public, all they ask is you sign in to their Guest Book. You don’t have to wait until after dinner either just come anytime. I usually start setting up there around 6pm.

      Mahalo,
      Del

  3. Aloha. I’m a newbie too. I had so much fun last week at the Elks. I didn’t know to check ahead, so missed the note about RSVP for dinner on Thurs. Makes sense. I will come tonight, and eat first.
The previous email indicated we don’t have to wait till the dinner ends to join. Just sign in as a guest. That was going to be my question. What is a good time to come if we are not eating.

    Mahalo,
    Rebecca
